4. Who we share information with
We share personal information only where necessary, and only with parties who are themselves bound by appropriate confidentiality and data-protection terms.
Service partners
- Axxess — our upstream wholesale ISP. To activate, support and bill your service, we share your account details and installation address.
- Sage / Yoco] — to process payments securely.
- Equipment suppliers — for warranty replacement (we share only what’s needed, typically a serial number).

We do not sell your personal information.
We do not share or sell your personal information to advertisers, data brokers, or anyone else for marketing purposes outside of Vektro Networks.
5. International transfers
Some of the third-party services we use are operated from outside South Africa (for example, parts of our hosting infrastructure, email delivery, and analytics may use cloud providers based in the European Union or the United States). Where this happens, we only use providers who offer protections equivalent to those required under POPIA.
You can ask us at any time which specific services involve cross-border transfer of your personal information.
6. Cookies and tracking
Our website uses cookies — small text files placed on your device — for the following purposes:
- Essential cookies — required for the site to function (e.g. remembering your session if you log into the Client Zone). These cannot be disabled.
- Analytics cookies — to understand how visitors use the site, so we can improve it. These are set by Google Analytics via Site Kit and you can opt out via your browser settings or the cookie banner on our site.
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies for third-party marketing.
You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings at any time. Blocking essential cookies may prevent parts of the site from working correctly.
7. How we protect your information
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against loss, theft, unauthorised access and unlawful processing. These include:
- HTTPS (TLS) encryption on all pages of our website
- Restricted access — only authorised Vektro Networks staff can access customer records
- Strong passwords and two-factor authentication on admin accounts
- Regular software updates, automated backups, and login-protection plugins
- Secure payment processing handled by certified third-party providers (we do not store full card numbers on our systems)
No system is perfectly secure. If a data breach occurs that could put your personal information at material risk, we will notify you and the Information Regulator as soon as reasonably possible, as required by POPIA.
8. How long we keep your information
We keep your personal information only for as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected for, or as long as the law requires:
| Type of data | Retention period |
|---|---|
| Enquiries and quotes where you did not become a customer | 12 months |
| Customer account records (while you are a customer) | For the duration of your service |
| Customer account records (after service ends) | 5 years (SARS / contract record-keeping requirements) |
| Connection session and billing logs | 3 years (RICA / regulatory requirement) |
| Marketing contact list | Until you unsubscribe |
After the relevant retention period, your information is deleted or anonymised.

We will not send you marketing on behalf of third parties.
